WHO'S BEHIND DREAM CAMP?

We're a mother-daughter team based in Bristol, UK. Jeanette has 20 years of experience making cultural events happen and working with communities to bring social change in the government and charity sectors. Rachel has 9 years' life experience as a girl - she loves to be creative and has been recognised as a 'future leader' at school. Together we want to inspire girls to be hopeful about the future and to dream big.

We're working together to explore creative leadership for African and Caribbean girls using dance and creative writing.

Our first venture was a 5-day summer experience called Dream Camp for girls aged 8-11 years in our home city Bristol. 

​

Dream Camp offers girls an opportunity to express themselves through creative expression including African dance, creative writing, visual art and more, and to explore their potential as leaders.

​

We meet up occasionally throughout the year and we're planning to host another summer experience in August 2024.

Dream Camp is supported through kind donations from crowd-funding and small grants from the National Lottery Community Fund and Nespresso Community Foundation.
